Admin - Chamber Cares

The Winter Park Chamber of Commerce launched Chamber Cares, a small business and community philanthropy effort in March 2008.  Chamber Cares is an annual fundraising campaign that awards funding to one community organization, cause or project.  Each year, a new project is chosen by the Board of Directors. The recipient must be a Winter Park Chamber of Commerce member and a 501(c)3 organization.

Since its inception, Chamber Cares, has raised almost $100,000 to support initiatives like the UCF College of Medicine's inaugural class, Senior's First emergency Meals-On-Wheels program and the Winter Park Public Library's Financial Literacy program.

2011-12 Chamber Cares Project
The 2011-12 Chamber Cares project will raise funds in support of the Winter Park Day Nursery.  The organization is among the most recognized and respected child care centers and preschools in Orange County. It currently serves 70 children, 95% of which reside with a single parent or caregiver whose income falls at or below the federal poverty line.

Funds raised through our efforts will be used to expand the existing Family Services Program and a component, Family Table Time.  The concept is focused on restoring the family table as a traditional way for families to gather and build more open communication and strong family ties.  The current need to fund this program is $15,000.
