On the evening of MONDAY, DECEMBER 7th, Central Park will be transformed into a Winter Wonderland when the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce presents the “2009 Holiday Tree Lighting Program.”  Our presenting sponsor this year is The Mayflower Retirement Community.  Supporting sponsors are the Enzian Theater, City of Winter Park, Wendell Bruce Hays, P.A., Costco, Brion Price Photography and the Winter Park Maitland Observer.

As dusk settles over Central Park, at approximately 5 PM, the air will be filled with music by local choirs.  The four 2009 Holiday Card winners will be introduced and their colorful cards unveiled.

At approximately 6 PM, Bob Opsahl of WFTV-Ch. 9 will officially light the huge Christmas Tree, signaling the official beginning of the Holiday Season in Winter Park.  Following the tree lighting, Santa will greet children.

Directly after the tree lighting, join the Enzian Theater for Popcorn Flicks.  Presented by the City of Winter Park and Enzian Theater. Gather with family and friends to enjoy these holiday classics. The animated film "How the Grinch Stole Christmas! will precede the 1954 classic "White Christmas" starring Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye and Rosemary Clooney. Please join us for this family fun event which is sure to warm the night!

While you are in the holiday mood, don't forget to visit Winter Park's very own ice skating rink, located in the West Meadow of Central Park!  For more information on this exciting winter activity, click HERE!
