Crealde School of Art: Mid-Century: A Photographic View of Three African-American Communities in Florida, is now on view at the Hannibal Square Heritage Center and at the Alice & William Jenkins Gallery through December 30, 2011. This two venue exhibition features Ellie Lee Weem's "Photographs of the La Villa Community in Jacksonville," Gordon Parks' "Portrait of the Midway Neighborhood in Daytona Beach," and selections from family photographs of the Hannibal Square Community in West Winter Park.

Crealde School of Art: "The Art of Fellowship in Painting & Drawing" exhibit is now on display at the Showalter Hughes Community Gallery through December 30, 2011. The exhibit features works of diverse, emerging artists within the painting and drawing department at Crealde.
Menello Museum of American Art: "Eight from Florida" is the second of two exhibits featuring works created by Florida artists, including Robert Rauschenberg, James Rosenquist, Jose Bedia, Margaret Tolbert, Sandy Winters, Dan Gunderson, Leslie Neuman, and John Chamberlain. The exhibit features sculpture and interactive multi-media installations now through January 1, 2012.
Morse Museum of American Art: The 2011-12 season continues the celebration of the opening of the museum's Tiffany wing with additional public programming designed to further increase appreciation and understanding of Laurelton Hall, including curator tours, lectures and films. Orlando Health: Experience the pinnacle of engineering with the purpose of giving back to the community at Performance Enthusiast on Friday, October 21. Winter Park Welcome Center: The thirteen senior art students of Rollins College present Good Beginnings, an exhibition that offers a preview of their work in preparation for their final show in May at the Cornell Fine Arts Museum. The exhibition is now on display through November 14 in the J.K and Sarah Galloway Foundation Community Gallery located within the Winter Park Welcome Center. An opening reception will be held October 26 from 5 - 6:30 p.m.
Cornell Fine Arts Museum: Five new exhibitions for the Fall 2011 season will open on Saturday, October 22, including: The Very Queer Portraits of Heyd Fontenot; Synchronicity: Studio Faculty Biennial Exhibition 2011; Kim Russo: Family; A Room of One's Own: Women Artists from the Permanent Collection; and Contested Object: Ninomiya Kinjiro and Rollins College's Cultural Property Controversy. In addition, Kim Russo will hold a public lecture on Saturday, October 22 at noon.
The Mennello Museum of American Art: Pumpkins & Pie, a traditional harvest festival with an artistic Florida twist features a silent auction, pumpkins designed by local artists and celebrities, homemade pies, bluegrass music and more on Saturday, October 22 from 6 - 9 p.m.
BASE Camp/American Childhood Cancer Organization: Learn to paint with Winter Park's established artist Cheri Riechers in a relaxed and fun atmosphere at Caring Hearts on Saturday, October 22 from 6:30 - 9 p.m. at Best Western Mt. Vernon Inn. Every participant will keep their original artwork. BASE Camp children will also participate to create artwork for Base Camp merchandise. Register by October 21 at www.basecamp.org.
Case Feliz: Enjoy guitarist Peter Thacker at "Music at the Casa" on Sunday, October 23. Visit the historic home and studio from noon to 3 p.m. Free and open to the public.
Winter Park Playhouse: Natalie Cordone, with pianist Chris Leavy, will return to the popular Spotlight Cabaret Series in, I'm Not Here to Take Naps: Tales of a Preschool Perfectionist, Wednesday, October 26 and Thursday, October 27, both at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20. Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens: Celebrate Czech Independence Day on October 28 with free admission to the museum from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Museum founder Albin Polasek was born and raised in the province of Moravia, in what is now the Czech Republic.
Rollins College: The Winter Park Institute at Rollins College will celebrate the 45th anniversary of the founding of the National Organization for Women (NOW) with various events from October 28-29. The free events are open to the public and feature activists who played significant roles in the women's progressive movement and who can speak to the future of feminism. Speakers include author Gloria Steinem, former Congresswoman Patricia Schroeder and Rollins College alumna and co-founder of NOW Muriel Fox, along with other key veteran feminist activists. City of Winter Park: The Winter Park Fire-Rescue Department will offer seasonal flu shot clinics for citizens to obtain quick and affordable influenza vaccines. The last clinic will be held on Saturday, October 29 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Winter Park Farmers' Market. For information call (407) 599-3613.
Rollins College: Mark your calendar for Saturday, October 29 from 2 - 5 p.m. for a howling good time! Some of the "spooky" shenanigans for the whole family to enjoy will include trick-or-treating on Mills Lawn, haunted houses, arts and crafts, carnival games, a costume contest and snacks and beverages to enjoy. Winter Park Sunday Running Group: Donate blankets for homeless men at the Men's Pavillion at the Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida. The main collection effort will take place on Sunday, October 30 at 6:30 a.m. at Park Avenue and Welbourne, prior to the Sunday Running Group's weekly run at 7:00 a.m. All local runners are invited to join in that run and all people in the community are invited to donate used or new blankets for these homeless men. Winter Park Concours d'Elegance: Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the Winter Park Concours d'Elegance will take place on Sunday, November 6 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. The event will feature high-end classic automobiles, as well as the very best of exotic automobiles. A nationally recognized team of judges are gathered to evaluate over 160 vehicles in this Concours-style show.
