July 8, 2026
What is the Crealdé School of Art?
The Crealdé School of Art in Winter Park, FL is one of Central Florida's best community arts organizations, offering classes in jewelry making, ceramics, painting, photography, sculpture and more. Its main campus is set on a lakeside campus with two indoor galleries and an outdoor sculpture garden, just a short distance from Orlando.
Founded as a nonprofit in 1975, Crealdé provides community-based, hands-on arts experiences. More than 50 years later, Crealdé remains a vibrant, community-supported organization offering arts classes designed to stimulate the creative process and cultivate a lifelong aesthetic appreciation.
What can I do at the Crealdé School of Art?
The Crealdé School of Art offers more than 125 classes across three locations in Central Florida. Classes typically meet for two hours a week over a six- to eight-week session, and cover a variety of artistic mediums, including photography, painting and drawing, ceramics, fiber arts and more. A full list of subjects, classes and locations is available on the Crealdé website.
One unique program at Crealdé is jewelry making, allowing students to create complete earrings, necklaces, rings and other metalwork in two hours or less.
Creladé also offers one- and two-day workshops with its instructors, focusing on particular aspects within an artform. These classes are more intensive, usually running about six hours per day.
Where can I see works created at the Crealdé School of Art?
Visitors to Crealdé can see exhibitions on the main campus in the Alice & William Jenkins Gallery, as well as the Showalter Hughes Community Gallery. Both galleries are open during Crealdé's regular business hours: 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on Mondays through Thursdays and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
The Contemporary Sculpture Garden also offers visitors a chance to enjoy more than 60 pieces of art and educational panels through a self-guided tour. The sculpture garden is open seven days a week from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Admission to all of thesis free.
Since 1981, Crealdé students have had the chance to submit to the annual Juried Student Showcase. The exhibition, held in both the Alice & William Jenkins Gallery and Showalter Hughes Community Gallery, displays more than 100 pieces across from the ceramics, sculpture, photography, and painting & drawing programs. One piece is selected as "Best in Show" by the annual guest judge, and program managers select a first, second, and third place prize in each of the four submission categories.
